No, I'm not going to post my new phone number publicly. If you are one of the extremely lucky people who has had it in the past, send me a message here. If you're still interested, I'll get you the new info. IMPORTANT: If you didn't have it to begin with, don't even try to fool me.
HEY ALT! STOP CENSORING MY BLOG!!! I'm not posting any contact information or violating any terms of service! What good is a blog if I can't let people I've met know that they need to reach out to me privately for updates?
Alt users: Here's what you're missing: they're taking out words like I, me, it, you, number, send. It's nothing you can't still figure out, but I hope you take note that they're CENSORING SENSELESSLY.

I'm thinking of changing my Alt handle. (Yes, it's possible; see the end of this blog for instructions.)
Why change it? As much as I love (and hope) that I've come to be known by one name, sometimes people get the wrong idea that I'm new to this. When I created my profile, yes, I was readier than ever to start this journey. I still am. I always am anxious to get further into it. But I'm not dipping my toe in anymore, I'm up to my knees.
Now as I go about having introductory conversations with people who make it through the first round or two of my vetting process I frequently have to explain two things to them: I am not new or lacking in knowledge about kink, and I really have very simple goals here. The new handle I have in mind will beautifully depict that. (I'm deliberately not saying what it is because it's so awesome I don't want anyone taking it.)
Want to stay apprised of the change whenever it comes? Hotlist me and memorize my picture so I'm easy for you to find again. I'm not sure when I'll change it. Mostly it hinges on getting positive feedback from people whose input I value and finding a variation that fits within the character limit. (I'm currently over by just one character.) I know if I don't end up liking it I can always change it back ... if somebody else hasn't already taken up residence with it.
Of course, the one true downside to changing it is this: If you cracked the code on my profile you know I have a Twitter feed in which I mention my kinky business cards. They have my primary communication modes including my current Alt handle. So I'll have to manually change each of them as I hand them out. Booooo...
So, thoughts? Anybody reading this who has visited my profile several times and has come to love me as readierthanever?
How to change your handle: On the desktop version of the site, in the gray bar at the top, go to My Stuff > My Account > scroll down to the Manage Account box > click on Change Username.

I finally figured out how to add kinks from that fabulous long list onto my profile, not for lack of trying many other times.
However, I have some that aren't on the list!!! Does anybody know how to add new ones to the list?
It's too bad that Alt doesn't have an option of "find me the people who match the most of these kinks." If Alt does, I clearly don't know about it and need to be clued in!
If anyone else out there is having trouble figuring out how to add them, let me know and I'll help you. (No judging, I promise!)
Anyway, yay, I'm not a boring bottom anymore with only like 20 stock kinks (stocks haha, yeah those too).

Profile being censored

I'll be curious to see if this blog post gets censored.
Has anyone noticed that Alt redacts any mention of other social media sites in our profiles? I have a couple that I specifically want to mention: Twitter, because that's one platform I'm trying to build up to do networking, and bdsmtest.org, cause it's fun to take the test and I want other people to get to enjoy it.
Speaking of the latter, it's not like Alt offers anything like that, so it's not a conflict of interest. It gives some fun insight into other people. Everyone reading this should check it out.
Before people start hollering about freedom of speech, we do have to remember that this is Alt's house and we signed on to play by their rules.
But in the meantime, does anyone have any tips to get names of other social media and websites past the censors? Sometimes strategically spaced names works, and spelling out punctuation works well too. But it would be nice to list it as close as possible to the real thing. I certainly don't mind people asking me "What's the Birdie site?" but it's getting old, Alt.
The true tests will be:
- What will this blog entry look like after I post it?
- Will this blog entry trigger an extra-thorough pass at my profile by the censors?

Business cards

Yes, business cards.
I'm getting back into more networking in my region, looking to build up a collection of people I can play with. I want to make myself extra memorable at munches and get-togethers and other events where I can meet new people, so I'm trying something radical.
Depending on the context, radical can mean something fresh and new, or something that is more toward its roots. What better than business cards? The front introduces me as a rope bottom, and the back has all my forms of social media and modes of communication. (Except my phone number... people have to earn that!)
If you're lucky enough to meet me in person, you may get one of these cards!
