The Pebble
Walking along the shoreline, a pebble stands before.
To the one side, water and growth of abundance.
To the one side, earth and relevance of meaning.
Before is a pebble spanning distance of abundant meaning.

Do you see it? Is it not clear? Can you reach it? Creation so bare.
Or is it found an emptiness of one's living amidst abundance.
The irony of the world about us all, having and having not.
And covering it all, the wide blue skies.

The Just and the Unjust, the meekly mighty and the mighty meek.
The gifts of creation in abundance for all.
Emptiness of too much when the greed becomes raw.
Yet how much is in a handful of water? How much is in a ray of Sun?

How much is the fullness of the soul? How much is the fondness of the heart?
Regrettably, a pebble soon, but not so soon, forgotten.
