Safe Haven
Stands, feet in the sand, eyes on the pier of so many journeys.
So many storms; Dora, Camille, Agnes, Hugo, Andrew, Katrina, Michael, Ian, Idalia.
The storms are about over, until the next one.
So many names, faces, friends, places flood from memory.

I wasn't there, but I was.
Boca Grande, Orlando, St. Augustine, Perry, Jacksonville, Tallahassee,
Waycross, Statesboro, Atlanta, Athens, Charleston, Camp LeJeune.
The sea will have it's way however mighty the struggle with the land.

Yet, for a time, the land does provide for those who seek
Safe Haven.
